MAYAKOBA GOLF

Golfing opportunities abound at Mayakoba’s signature Greg Norman, 7,000-yard, 18-hole course, El Camaleón. The championship golf course is the centerpiece of the resort enclave. In 2006, it became the first golf course in Mexico to host an official PGA Tour. Located on the resort’s doorstep, El Camaleón meanders through the lush tropical landscape of the Riviera Maya coast, providing scenic backdrops at every hole.

Reservations can be made after September 2023 once the hotel confirms all attendee rooms.

Please DO NOT make any reservations online via the hotel’s websites.

Complimentary transportation to and from the course is provided.

THE COURSE

El Camaleón is named for its diverse layout and varied landscape, which bends through tropical jungles, dense mangroves and oceanfront stretches of sand with holes bordered by massive limestone canals. Indigenous and environmentally inspired design aspects are evident from the opening fairway with its imposing cenote (sinkhole), an ancient underground cavern.

While each hole shines with its own particular magic, the Par 3s have earned the most plaudits. Hole 15 defines the El Camaleón experience. At only 160 yards from the back marker, the hole plays directly toward the sparkling coast. Regardless of one’s score, the ocean view remains with the player long after the round. Hole 7 also plays to the edge of the Caribbean Sea, with the sand and spray punctuating the breeze. This is a dramatic, meandering course that makes full use of its proximity to both jungle and ocean, giving players a once-in-a-lifetime golfing experience.
